It’s my Birthday! Here is a Birthday Present From Me to You!

Hi everyone and welcome to my place!

Today is my birthday (yaiiii!) and I wanted to do something for this special ocasion! So I used an idea which was in the drafts for a long time by now and finally share it with you guys! It will be a tag and it will be called “Let’s All Write a Story!” .

Remember when I told you that I would compensate for not tagging anyone in the Liebster 2.0 award? Well this is it! Let me start with the idea first and then I’ll explain the rules!

But, first of all, I want to thank Irina for reviewing this post and helping me with the rules! You’re the best!

Now the idea:

Well, basically the title says it all honestly! My idea is for everyone write a story together, each of us writing a paragraph. You are free to take the story where you want and I’m really interested to see how this will come out! 😀

Basically, this will be a tag post (Yes, another one!), but this time there is a difference, you can’t tag the same person twice. I came with this idea after I found some posts talking about award tags and how difficult it was to answer all of them, specially because sometimes they would get a lot of nominations for the same award. I do like the awards tags, but like many of you, balancing 3 posts a week, work, and general life… It ends up to be difficult to answer all the nominations promptly. I mean it may not seem that way, but award posts do take some time to write, and if you are nominated by 3 people for an award and therefore you need to answer like 30 questions in a row… Which also makes the post too long to read – at least for me. But don’t get me wrong, Award posts are really helpful, specially to new bloggers! I’ve found many cool blogs through them and let’s face it… Receiving an award is always such a thrill and makes me happy to see that there are people out there that like my work enough to nominate me. I think the problem with the awards is the amount of people you nominate… It scales too quick and hugely. Think in the first post ever done. There were 10 people nominated, those 10 people will nominated another 10… 10×10=100, Those 100 nominate 10 more, 100*10=1000… You get the point 😀

So, with this, since you are being nominated only once throughout the tag and only one person can be tagged each time, it won’t get out of hand! And, again… It will be fun to see what we are all going to come up with, so how is this going to work?

Basically I will start the tag… I’ll write the first paragraph and tag the first person. The post will be, first the rules ( I’ll just put a link to it in my post so it doesn’t create unnecessary noise to the story), and then you will have the story.

You will have the name of the person who wrote the paragraph with a tag to one of their posts so they can receive notifications every time a new paragraph is added, in the end your name (tagged to a post of your own so you can receive notifications) and then at the end, you will tag for the person you want to continue the story (which can’t be repeated – just do a control find to see if the person is not already tagged), again tag A POST of the person and not the main page. They need to receive a notification to answer your tag.

Example:

Arthifis (linked to a post) : this is the first paragraph..

Next person (linked to a post): This is the second…

The story will be divided by chapters (just so the post don’t end up being too long for people to read). This way, each “chapter” will have 10 paragraphs. If you are writing the tenth paragraph of the chapter, link me in the end. I will put the completed chapter in my blog so anyone can read it easily and start a new chapter. I’m doing this because I don’t want to have posts with like 10.000 words going back and forward… Ain’t nobody got time for scrolling so much in a post!

And, that’s it! I hope you like this idea and that you will join in! If you feel that you don’t know how to write or something like that, don’t! This is supposed to be for the funs and not to publish a book! Just write how you usually write, there is no problem with that.

Now the rules:

1. 1. Copy the post (everything – with the links and all) to your post
   2. Add your name and link it to one of your posts
   3. Write your paragraph in around 200 words (think that if everyone write 200 words, at the end of the chapter the post will have 2000 words)
   4. At the end of the post tag the person you want to continue (Do not tag someone who has already been tagged, if everyone you know has been tagged, think of it as a great way to go and meet new blogger :D) AND TAG A POST NOT THE HOME PAGE SO THEY CAN GET THE NOTIFICATION
   5. Be aware if the person you tagged answers you affirmative! After the tag comes out the person will have 3 days to accept it! If he/she doesn’t answer (or if the answer is a negative one), edit your post and tag another blogger – by linking to a blog post and not the home page.

• If you are the one writing the tenth paragraph of a chapter, link me at the end of it and no one else!!!!! This is important because I need to change some things to start a new chapter and It’s easier if I do it than for me to explain it 😛

• If you are tagged, try to write in 1, or 2 weeks so the tag does not die. Come on people, it’s only 200 words! 😀

Note: If you want to be tagged again, tell me! The idea is for you not to be overwhelmed with tags, but if you don’t mind it at all, I’ll try to arrange some way to put it out there again. DM @Arthifis on Twitter or send me a message through the contact page. Don’t do it by commenting because it’s harder for me to organize everything that way.
